One person is seriously injured after a car flipped and went up in flames in Leeston, in South Canterbury.
Police arrived at the scene on Leeston Road at about quarter-to-two.
A police spokeswoman said one person is trapped and has suffered serious injuries.
It's not known whether any other people are involved.
The Fire Service and ambulance are also at the scene.
