A man who was trapped in his car after rolling down the Hutt River bank this morning has died from his injuries.
Emergency services were called out just after 11am.
The man suffered serious injuries and had to be cut out of his car.
The man, in his 20s, lost control of his vehicle, which hit a bollard.
He suffered head injuries and collapsed lungs.
He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The man died at the scene.
Alcohol is a suspected factor.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist is in a critical condition after driving off a cliff in the Manawatu.
Emergency services were called to Ruahine Road at Mangaweka just after 2pm.
The woman is believed to be in her 50s.
She was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
Police said her husband was at the scene.
