A man's been shot either at or outside Unitec in Carrington Road in Mt Albert in Auckland.

It happened during a fight just before 9 this morning..

The man received a gunshot wound.

He has moderate injuries and has been taken to hospital.

Unitec says no staff or students were involved in the incident.

Police are looking for sightings of two vehicles, a black Hyundai hatchback with the registration plate LB J2 and another hatchback with the registration plate HWG485.

They also want to hear from anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident
