Two helicopter passengers have escaped uninjured after a crash at Wanaka Airport this morning.
Police were called to the scene at 11.28am.
Two people were in the helicopter at the time and were not injured, police said.
The incident occurred off the runway so the airport remains open.
The Civil Aviation Authority has been advised.
A reporter at the scene said the crash happened during helicopter pilot training.
Another helicopter was in the air at the time and landed to check if the passengers were injured in the crash before taking to the air again.
A Fire and Emergency spokesman said fire crews arrived at the airport but were "stood down".
