Firefighters are battling two separate blazes in eastern Christchurch.

One person has been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at the Mr Boats factory on the corner of Dyers Rd and Wickham St in Bromley.

A Fire Service spokesman says the factory was well ablaze when they arrived at the scene.

Four crews are attending.

The fire has been contained but is not yet extinguished.

Three other fire crews are also working to control a second fire at a garage and sleepout on Howe St in New Brighton.
