Update 9.13pm:Â The highway which links Porirua and Upper Hutt in Wellington remains closed after a serious multiple vehicle crash.
Two people had to be cut from their cars after the collision on Haywards Hill, just after six tonight.
One person has critical injuries and has been flown to Wellington Hospital via helicopter.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
