UPDATED 1:50pm: A toddler is in a critical condition after a house fire left him with burns across his body.

The two-year-old boy was rushed to Auckland's Middlemore Hospital just after 8am.

Two adults were also injured in the blaze on Malone Road in Mount Wellington, one is being treated for serious injuries at Auckland Hospital.

A Middlemore Hospital spokesperson says the toddler remains in their care and his condition hasn't changed.

A forensic investigation by the Fire Service is expected to take most of today.

Malone Road is now open again.
