Staff will be assessing the damage at Westland High School today after a large fire at the school over the weekend.
Six fire crews and a helicopter were called to tackle the blaze yesterday afternoon.
Principal Trevor Jones said the school will be closed until further notice.
"We need to be sure that it's safe for children to go into and we need to know the extent of the damage...give us a chance to put a plan into operation as well."
Jones said the hall and the staff room have been burnt out and there's damage to the administrative block and potentially one or two classrooms.
Offers of community support have been flooding in following the fire, and Jones received "multiple calls" offering support including schools offering classrooms for them to use.
