A Christchurch school is gathering expert information in a bid to stick it to the Education Minister and prove its school site is on safe ground.
Education Minster Hekia Parata is proposing to close Redcliffs school, on the basis future rockfalls could pose a risk at the site.
Principal Kim Alexander says geotechnical reports she's seen contest that view, and is working with the board to formulate an appeal to the minister's proposal.
"Her concern is interruption to education. This community is very aware of that. They believe there are solutions."
The school plans to hand their submission to the Minister by the beginning of May.
