A re-jig of how Christchurch students are taught in schools is on the cards, with teachers keen to make the most of new learning spaces.

The Canterbury Primary Principals' Association is hosting a conference to talk about the future of teaching in Canterbury.

Around seven-hundred people in attendance.

President Rob Callaghan says the Government's school shake-up in 2012 is about to spark a wave of positive changes.

"The way that some of the new schools are being built allows for changes in the use of technology and greater flexibility in how children can move around their learning space."
