UPDATED 8.17am: A 21-year-old farm worker is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court today, facing a charge of threatening to kill.

The Armed Offenders Squad was called to a property at Kaiwera, near Gore, just before 11pm yesterday.

Officers from Clinton and Balclutha responded, supported by the Dunedin Armed Offenders Squad.

Police say threats had been made toward the owner of the property and the police.

A number of firearms have been seized from the farm, including a shotgun and a high-powered rifle.
