A Christchurch jeweller's hoping his distinctive designs will catch out thieves who stole $200,000 worth of stock.
Around 2000 rings were taken from La Bu jewellery store at the Tannery this week.
The offenders ripped off a roof panel to get into a storeroom, then smashed through a wall.
Store owner Mehmet Bayram said his jewellery is rare enough to be easily identified.
"My stock is all gemstone, original gemstone and brass and silver. They're all unique production. Lots of people know my style. I'm sure if anybody saw anybody sell my stock they call me or they call [the] police."
He said he can only avoid the financial losses if his jewellery is found.
Bayram said his small business isn't covered in any way.
"Too much, too much complication for me and I didn't do that. I'm a single working person."Â
