Two teenagers have been arrested in relation to a deliberate fire in Wairoa.

The 14-year-olds have been charged with arson after the blaze at the Netball Pavilion last week.

Detective Sergeant Daniel Kirk says the fire caused significant damage to the inside of the pavilion, which is used for local netball games, community events and fitness classes.

He says the teenagers will appear in the Wairoa Youth Court later this month.
