Two men have been arrested after a dangerous high speed chase in Eastern Auckland.
A police motorway patrol saw a stolen car this evening on the Southern motorway wanted in connection with a robbery at a South Auckland dairy when the vehicle fled.
The pursuit was abandoned by ground units after a few minutes as the driver of the stolen vehicle picked up very high speeds and maneuvered in an erratic and dangerous manner.
The Police helicopter Eagle kept the car in sight as it drove around Mount Wellington, Panmure, Glen Innes, and Remuera for about 25 minutes.
The car was eventually dumped in the Remuera area and the two occupants ran away.
However they were arrested a few minutes later by Police ground units.
