Updated 3.42pm: The man accused of pulling women's teeth out with pliers hasn't challenged the evidence, a jury has heard.

Philip Hansen faces 10 charges in the Wellington District Court, including wounding, rape, indecent assault and male assaults female.

Another charge of male assaults female has been withdrawn.

In closing her case, crown prosecutor Sally Carter told the jury Hansen hasn't denied the claims, but instead has argued the women consented.

It's alleged Hansen pulled 12 teeth from the mouths of three women during a period of offending between 1988 to 2011, and cut the toes of another woman.

Ms Carter told the jury if they accept testimony of victims that they tried to fight Hansen off, they clearly weren't consenting.

Defence lawyer Mike Antunovic claims the victims have exaggerated their complaints.

He told the jury three of the four complainants spoke about their experiences together before going to the police.

Mr Antunovic said all four complaints were then made within seven days.

He said all four women consented to what was happening at the time, and even if they later regretted it, that consent was valid.

Judge Bruce Davidson will sum up the case on Wednesday morning before the jury retires to deliberate.
