The dating app Tinder is in the headlines again with reports it's being used as a forum to buy and sell drugs.

The Herald on Sunday has uncovered cases of users looking to sell or buy marijuana through the app.

Police said they don't hold statistics on the number of times Tinder has been used to sell illegal drugs - but they're aware and keeping an eye on it.

Netsafe boss Martin Cocker said it's not surprising, given the degree of privacy the app offers compared to other social media platforms.
