The teenager who was found guilty of the manslaughter of a west Auckland dairy owner has been granted permanent name suppression.
The 14-year-old boy stabbed Arun Kumar in the neck at the Railside Dairy in Henderson in June last year.
He was found not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter, and was jailed for six years.
Before he was sentenced at the High Court in Auckland, Justice Graham Lang ruled name suppression should be lifted.
However, it remained in place while his lawyer appealed.
The Court of Appeal has today released its decision, allowing that appeal, so therefore prohibiting publication of his name.
