Police have today released a computer sketch image of a man they want to locate after a home invasion in Auckland which left a woman with life threatening injuries.

A man broke into a woman's Karaka Street flat in Eden Terrace just before midnight on the December.

Police say she was seriously assaulted after she confronted him - but is now recovering well.

The man's been described as Maori, aged between 28 and 35, about 170cm tall, of thin, wiry build and with dark hair which is long at the back.
