A fire thought to be suspicious has gutted a small out-building at Christchurch's Shirley Intermediate School last night.
The stand-alone building, which was a multi-cultural facility, was well ablaze by the time fire-fighters arrived at the scene around 9.30pm.
A fire communications spokesman says three appliances were required to bring the fire under control.
A police officer at the scene told an eyewitness an arson attack is the likely cause.
