One person is dead and several others have been taken to hospital after a homicide in Wellington.

Two of the injured are in a serious condition, and one has minor injuries.

All three have been taken to Wellington hospital. 

Police are at the scene on Broderick Road in the suburb of Johnsonville.

They says one person is assisting police with inquiries, and the scene, which includes a number of houses in the street, is cordoned off.
