An Auckland pastor has been jailed after evading more than one million dollars of tax.
Tosala Fauatea, who's also known as Laumoli Sefatu, is a member of the Assembly of God Church of Samoa.
He established the la O’o Mai Lou Malo Support Trust which provides labourers to fruit and vegetable growers in South Auckland - and for five years from 2007 to 2011 he failed to file any GST returns or pay the correct PAYE amounts.
Inland Revenue says he deliberately ignored it's repeated offers to help.
Fauatea's been jailed for three years.
