A Napier woman jailed last year for severely neglecting her elderly mother is now out on parole, after serving a third of her sentence.
Joanne Quinn was sentenced last May to two years and six months in prison for failing to provide the necessaries of life to her mum Maureen.
Maureen Quinn died in 2011 after she was found extremely malnourished and dehydrated, with maggot-infested sores covering her legs.
The Parole Board say a person representing Joanne Quinn at her hearing strongly believes she's no risk to the community if she was not in the role of a caregiver.
The report states the offending was extremely specific and concerned a unique interdependent relationship between mother and daughter.
