A man who is suspected of shooting at police has now been located.

Police have caught up with Patrick Dixon.

It follows search warrants being executed at a Cambridge house.

The 30-year-old has has been charged with two counts of using a firearm against a law enforcement officer and he will appear in the Manukau District Court this morning.

It follows an incident in Manurewa early Wednesday morning where a police officer working alone was repeatedly fired at.

Dixon will also appear in court on a number of unrelated charges.

Police would like to thank members of the public who assisted during the investigation.
