North Shore police are still hunting for a man who stole two cars car and led police from Glenfield to Devonport this morning.

A motorway patrol unit tried to stop a stolen car, which was driving erratically on the Northern motorway, just after 8am - but he fled, then stole a second car in Glenfield and headed off again.

Police called off the chase when the driver headed the wrong way in rush hour traffic.

The car was later found in Philomel Crescent in Devonport, and police are searching the area for the offender.
