Gisborne Police have seized more than nine-hundred cannabis plants from a bush area, north of Gisborne.
The maturing plants were taken near Te Araroa over the weekend.
Detective Sergeant Kevin Ford said the cannabis would have been destined for the Gisborne-East Coast market.
He said two houses were searched, and a number of people are being spoken to.
No arrests have been made yet.
