Police say the jogger attacked in Dunedin, was 'blitzed' from behind.
The 23-year-old was running at Ross Creek around 9.15 last night, when she was jumped by a man wearing black - she was then tied up and sexually assaulted.
Police said it appears the attack was random.
Detective sergeant Kallum Croudis said police have a fair idea about where the offender went after the attack, but they want to keep an open mind in case he returns to the spot. Â
"I just think we need to look at all the areas around Ross Creek where he could potentially have a motor vehicle or potentially have transport."Â
Kallum Croudis said they won't be discouraging people from using the Ross Creek area.
