An Auckland man is spending the weekend behind bars after police found him with a family's Christmas presents.
The family woke up yesterday morning at their home in Freeman's Bay, to find they'd been cleaned out of gifts and electronics.
A cellphone was one of the stolen items.
The owner of the phone was notified by Google when someone began trying to set up an account on it...using another name.
Police were able to track the person down, and soon found the family's presents and belongings.
A 44-year-old Freeman's Bay man is in custody until he appears in the Auckland District Court tomorrow charged with burglary.
