Police have arrested a 29-year-old Napier man for the alleged indecent assault of a woman and continue to investigate similar assaults in the area.
A week ago Hawke's Bay police said they were trying to work out if a number of indecent assaults on women in public places at or near to Napier Hill, Taradale and Havelock North were linked.
Inspector Dave Greig, the Hawke's Bay Area Commander, said the arrest on Friday evening was for the indecent assault of a woman in Burns Road on Sunday morning.
"We are continuing to investigate other similar attacks on women around the Hawke's Bay area, and have yet to establish if there are connections between them," he said.
Police continue to ask members of the public who can assist with the investigation to come forward.
