Updated 4.05pm: A man has been arrested following an Armed Offenders Squad call out in a small town south of Thames.
Cordons were in place in Kerepehi as police appealed to a man to give himself up and the local primary school and kohanga reo were in lock down for a short time.
Police say the man surrendered himself eventually.
