Roger Sutton wants to look his former CERA employees in the eye and thank them for their hard work at his farewell afternoon tea today.

The function is in response to requests from staff to have an opportunity to farewell their disgraced former boss.

It will be held off site, with no taxpayer funds used.

Roger Sutton says it's pleasing to know staff were the ones pushing for a farewell.

"I've had lots of messages from al sorts of people including lots of staff," he says.

"I'm looking forward to seeing those people and catching up and being able to thank them."

A CERA spokesman says the matters which led to Roger Sutton's resignation will not be discussed at the function.

Roger Sutton says his plans for the future are still up in the air, but he's determined to spend more time with family.
