Christchurch's new central library will feature the country's largest interactive 'touch wall'
The wall will span seven-metres, and will allow visitors to swipe through information about the city.
Council head of libraries, Carolyn Robertson said it'll give people the opportunity to view and add to the library's database.
"That includes a lot of wonderful images and a lot of written material of things like diaries and records that are Christchurch heritage material."
People will also be able to upload their own stories, photos and videos.

Robertson said the wall's virtual "cityscape" will be set up in a way that is uniquely and intuitively Christchurch.
"It will be a big drawcard for visitors, allowing them to learn more about our city's history and its future, in a fun and engaging way."
Other high-tech features planned for the $92 million Turanga include laser cutters, 3D printers, virtual reality consoles and robotics.
