The Lyttelton Port Company has posted a major growth in productivity, just as its owner the Christchurch City Council looks to sell assets.
LPC has recorded a three percent increase in container volumes for the six months ending in December, driven by a 9 percent growth in imports.
Car imports were up 23.5 percent on the year before, with grain imports growing 13.5 percent and fertiliser up 12 percent.
