An autistic woman who flew to India to be with her boyfriend has returned home.

Jessica Doody who has a mental age of just 14 years, secretly changed her name, got a new passport, and travelled to India.

She refused to leave when her dad Gary flew to India to bring her home.

Her sister Sarah Doody says she can't comment on why she returned, but Jessica arrived home this morning.

"I am so relieved to have her back. It's such a weight off my shoulders, just knowing that she's safe is such a great feeling, you can't explain it."

Doody says the amount of support they've received from strangers has been amazing.
