Canterbury residents will get the support they need with the Government's announcement to keep the region's Residential Advisory Service open.
The service was set up in 2013 to help people struggling with complex insurance issues.
Lack of funding would have forced it to close next month.
Minister for Greater Christchurch Regeneration Megan Woods said it's hard navigating your way through the confusing maze of EQC and insurance settlements.
"We all know how difficult this is for people, and I don't want to see anyone unable to get the support they need to be able to settle their claims and get on with their lives."
The $700,000 cash injection keeps the service open until July.
