Firefighters are trying to contain a large scrub fire on the banks of the Waimakiriri River in north Canterbury.
There're eight fire trucks at the blaze on Diversion Road in Kaiapoi West.
The fire was reported by a member of the public just before midday.
Fire service shift manager Brent Dunn says the fire is a decent size.
