The latest ASB regional economic scoreboard shows the Canterbury economy has continued to out perform the rest of New Zealand.
Canterbury has now held the top spot for four quarters in a row.
Something ASB senior economist Chris Tennent-Brown says is down to more than just post-quake construction.
"Canterbury is in the top half of all the individual measures we have within the scoreboard, so it's a pretty broad performance beyond that construction story," he says.
The Auckland region took out the second spot, bag with Nelson, Tasman and Otago all rising up the rankings
