New Zealand won't be the only country looking to secure its trading relationship with Britain.
Our Prime Minister Bill English has met with his British counterpart Theresa May, where it was made clear New Zealand would be at the top of their list for a post-Brexit free trade agreement.
CNN's Richard Quest told Rachel Smalley all of the 12 countries involved in the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement will now be looking for trade successes, and a deal with Britain is likely to be one of them.
"New Zealand and indeed the 11 other TPP countries are coming away from a trade bloody nose, now that it looks like Donald Trump is going to rip up the TPP."
