A Christchurch shopper has complained about bandanas for sale in Riccarton.

He made the complaint after seeing what he believed were bandanas in gang colours for sale at K-Mart's Westfield store.

The shopper said the black, red, white and blue bandanas have since been taken off the shelves, but he'll be back in store this afternoon to check.

K-mart Riccarton would not confirm that the items had been removed from sale to NewstalkZB.

They instead referred comment to the company's head office in Australia.

The shopper said the company had told him  they had ‘taken the items off the shelf while they investigate.’
