Workers have downed tools again at Lyttelton Port, bringing the container terminal to a halt for 6 hours.
Men walked off the job because of a lack of cover in the maintenance workshop.
The Rail and Maritime Union says workers didn't feel it was safe to continue.
There's currently an overtime ban as part of a dispute, with the union saying it's trying to make the port a safer place to work.
