Freightways Limited is celebrating a record profit in its latest half year results.

Net profit after tax is up 21% on the previous corresponding half year, to $26 million.

Operating revenue also saw a boost in the six months to the end of 2014, up 11% to $242 million.

An interim dividend of 12 cents per share has been announced, representing a pay out of around $18.5 million.

That's a 20% jump from the $15.4 million pay out for the previous corresponding half year dividend of 10 cents per share.
