Small business growth is expected if confidence remains at near record highs.

The latest ANZ quarterly report shows business confidence is now at its second highest level in 15 years.

ANZ's managing director of retail and business banking Fred Ohlsson says that should lead to a boost for small businesses.

"We're more likely to to see businesses ready to grow as they take on new staff, but also for more services opening up more outlets."
