Discussions today on a just-released report on the growth of Auckland's Maori economy.

It puts the asset base of the city's Maori entities and businesses at $23 billion.

The report was commissioned by the Auckland Council's Independent Maori Statutory Board.

Chairman David Taipari said it highlights significant opportunities for growth that they want to share.

He adds a thriving Māori economy equals a thriving Auckland economy, meaning opportunities and benefits for all.
