A warning is being issued that ANZ's bumper profit is spiking because of one-off conditions.
The bank's made a full year profit of seven billion dollars.
1.7 billion of that has come from the New Zealand arm of the business.
Massey University banking expert David Tripe says the bank's books would be healthy no matter what, but the bottom line got a boost from conditions that won't be repeated next year.
He says ANZ has been writing back bad and doubtful debts, without providing for new one .. and has also had an insurance payout.
