Jetstar believes it's busting the myth about being late and unreliable.

The company is just off the back of a campaign where it gave away travel vouchers when planes were more than 10 minutes late arriving at their destinations.

CEO Grant Kerr says it might sound like they've given away a lot, but the reality is they were better than expected.

"It was a couple of thousand vouchers that were handed out, but our performance at the time was 91.3 percent at the 10 minute mark, which is incredible."
