Air New Zealand has received top honours at a night acknowledging the best in business.

The Deloitte Top 200 Awards took place at Auckland’s Vector Arena tonight, and the national carrier received the award for Company of the Year.

Tony Carter also picked up Chairperson of the Year for his role on the board of Air New Zealand as well as Fisher and Paykel Healthcare.

Ryman Healthcare’s Simon Challies won Executive of the Year, and NZ Post’s Michael Lewis won Young Executive of the Year.

Deloitte CEO Thomas Pippos says he continues to be impressed with the level of leadership and vision in New Zealand business.

“The high level of excellence demonstrated at these awards should give New Zealand great confidence in our business leaders.

“After twenty-five years of honouring our business heroes, and despite ongoing global and domestic uncertainties, the vision and ability for our top companies to succeed is stronger than ever.”

NZ Herald’s Executive Editor - Business Reports Fran O’Sullivan convened the panel of judges and says the were disciplined, visionary and committed to bottom line.

“These are business leaders who understand the need to deliver today while transforming the workplace to meet tomorrow’s challenges.”
