The Auditor-General is investigating into a billion dollar development scheme in west Auckland.
Lyn Provost says she's had a lot of complaints about the public-private partnership to build the new Westgate Town Centre.
The project is costing ratepayers around $200 million dollars in and infrastructure alone.
Auckland Council has confirmed to the New Zealand Herald it's received terms of reference for an inquiry.
It's not yet clear when any findings will be made public.
