Auckland councillors will hold an urgent meeting today over Ports of Auckland's reclamation plans.
The development committee will vote on whether to delay a decision about reclamation rules until a study into its economic, environmental and cultural impacts has been carried out.
Last month councillors voted in favour of looser rules.
But Stop Stealing Our Harbour spokesman Michael Goldwater says they weren't properly informed.
"I've don't think we've been well informed or well advised. There has obviously been a lack of transparency."
Michael Goldwater says councillors promised the report in 2013.
He says the councillors who oppose delaying the vote have put the cart before the horse and they aren't living up to what their commitments.
The vote won't affect the extension of Bledisloe Wharf.
Opponents of that project are expected to file proceedings against the port in the High Court tomorrow.
