It will be a devastating morning for 60 Auckland primary school students, and their teachers, following a fire which has claimed two classrooms.
The blaze is believed to have started at Green Bay Primary School on Saturday night, and smouldered through until Sunday morning.
Constable James Kim says it's wrecked a pair of classrooms which were little over a year old.
He said that the fire was burning for quite a while, and that "the rooms have been damaged extensively [and] they can't be used."
Police are treating the blaze as unexplained and possibly suspicious.
Constable Kim is urging anyone who noticed anything out of the ordinary in the area that night to come forward.
"Those kids have lost their rooms and school - we just want to find a resolution," he said.
Police have released images of the fire damage, and of some children's scooters - and they'd like anyone who recognises the scooters to get in touch.
