Two new satellite-guided paths for planes to come into Auckland Airport from the north will make them more safe, quieter and better for the environment.
They'll operate from 7am to 10pm after May 28, and each path will take ten planes a day.
Board of Airline Representatives New Zealand executive director John Beckett says the benefits of using the satellite technology are huge.
"It enables the aircraft to come in much more in a glide, so it's burning less fuel, making less noise and it actually assists traffic control in bringing all of the aircraft into the airport safely."
