Human remains found on a Coromandel beach have been subjected to a car ride to Auckland.
They were found by a member of the public in an area exposed to constant erosion.
The finder handed the bones in at an Auckland police station, where they're now being examined to determine how old they are.
The area is well known for remains that predate European settlement.
